Our journey began with teen girls more than a decade ago, when Doreen Hanna, the Founder & President of Modern Day Princess (MDP) Headquarters, saw the need for an integrity based rite-of-passage for our teen girls in today’s culture.
In her research she discovered that most third world countries and religions had a way of celebrating their children’s step into adulthood. Those that had none resulted in many men and women drifting into their futures with an undefined identity.
In 2007 Focus on the Family/Tyndale saw the value of this of this rite of passage and published Raising a Modern Day Princess co-authored by Doreen & Pam Farrel. As of 2013, thousands of moms, mentors, and leaders have caught the vision and implemented this program impacting the lives of more than 25,000 teen girls and their families.
Today, MDP Headquarters continues to empower women as they guide their teen girls life impacting Becoming a MDP rite of passage journey and celebration that reveals and validates their purpose, value and strength.
In 2010, after many requests from women across the country, Doreen and Kara Ashbaugh created Still Princess~Becoming the Bride. This 8-week study culminates in a celebration that has enabled women of all ages to reflect on their past and consider their future with a renewed spirit of hope.
Lastly, we are excited about what is COMING SOON under the MDP umbrella, Princess parties, that will train our little girls in basic manners. Then a six-week curriculum for girls ages 6-11 emphasizing the charm and beauty of character attributes.
By now, we hope you are already saying, “This is just what I was looking for!” to equip and empower your girls, or women of any age, to guide them on a journey of discovery that defines and celebrates their purpose, value and strength.
